My Room’s goal hasn’t changed in 25 years – to have a 100% cure rate for children with cancer.

As part of Channel 9’s AFL Grand Final Footy Show telethon on Friday, we were honoured to help My Room raise more than $3.1m to support sick kids and their families in Victoria.

Our $100,000 donation takes our support of My Room to $500,000 over the past five years.

“It’s hard to believe that cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease, but the work My Room does for the community in the children’s cancer space is so vital, and a true testament to their mission, all of their volunteers, and all who donate,” our Partnerships Manager Liz McPherson said.

“The donation plays a part in allowing My Room to ensure families and children don’t miss out on the specialist support needed. It’s an incredible feeling knowing the positive impact of these funds."

My Room CEO Margaret Zita OAM said our partnership created hope for some of our sickest children.

“The Lott’s unwavering commitment and shared values, means that together we can make a real difference to families going through the most challenging journey,” she said.

“With every dollar donated at this year’s My Room Telethon, it will continue to help us lessen the burden of this journey for families and make the prospect of a cure for all childhood cancers stand even closer than ever before.”
