We proudly announce a $300,000 contribution to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation today to help it continue its important work keeping more children safe from physical and online harm.

The funds, from Golden Casket unclaimed prize money, will help grow the foundation’s child safety events and education programs, and boost the support it provides to victims of crime and families of missing persons.

Today’s contribution from The Lott by Golden Casket brings The Lott’s support of the foundation to $1.2 million since 2019.

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation was established in 2005 by Bruce and Denise Morcombe in honour of their 13-year-old-son Daniel, who was abducted from a Sunshine Coast bus stop and murdered.

The couple wanted to give back to the community that supported them after Daniel went missing and to prevent others from experiencing the same grief.

“One of the most important things we can do as caregivers is to protect our children by educating them about personal safety. Thanks to the foundation, kids, parents, educators and carers have a better understanding of how they can keep their kids safe from abuse and risk of harm,”

The Lott Partnerships Manager Ally Ramsamy

“Through important community initiatives, such as Day for Daniel, The Boomer Challenge, Safe Bedrooms, Changing Futures, Talk Early and Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson - along with a growing number of resources for children, parents, carers and educators - the Daniel Morcombe Foundation is making Australia a safer place for our kids.”
